In the beginning of February 2021, I had the privilege to work with the talented team at Trifilm on the production of project made to accompany the release of Bill Gate's book "How to Avoid a Climate Disaster", to be released on the Gate's Notes site/blog. I was charged with animating shots 3, 8, and 13 based on the creative directors notes and a handful of storyboards. Each shot would have a transition in and out from a different artist's shot, so collaboration between everyone was important as well. It was both exciting and a bit nerve wracking to be put in the drivers seat, figuring out how to bring life to the storyboards. The process was fast-paced, but in the end I'm very happy where we ended up on all of the shots.
Each shot was a combination of 2D and 3D keyframe animated elements (mostly on 2's) composited together to capture the look and feel of papercraft animation.
